About Prairie Tree Landscape Center

West of Elkhorn the land lifts into a low rise, and on a clear morning you can still read the old prairie in it — the long horizon, the bluestem gone gold along the fence lines. Prairie Tree Landscape Center keeps lawns across that ground, mowing, trimming and edging until a yard sits inside its borders the way a field sits inside a hedgerow. There is a particular satisfaction in the last pass, when the stripes line up and the edge along the front walk runs clean as a ruled line. Summer here arrives in thunderheads that stack up over Walworth County and pass through by supper, and the grass answers overnight. They work Elkhorn and the townships around it one yard at a time, glad to leave each place looking better than they found it.
