Babcock Services

About Babcock Services

Snow in this part of Wisconsin rarely falls straight down. It comes sideways on a northwest wind that has crossed miles of open corn stubble west of Elkhorn, piling into the lee of every gravel ridge the glacier left behind, drifting a drive shut an hour after it was cleared. Babcock Services works against that wind — plowing, shoveling walks, laying down salt so the first steps of the morning are safe ones — and then trades the plow for the mower once the ground softens and the season turns green again. Both halves of the year come down to the same thing: showing up before it becomes a problem. A cleared drive at dawn in February and a cut lawn on a Thursday in July are the same promise, kept twice.
