About Dad's Excavating Inc

All summer Road America's four miles of curves fill Elkhart Lake with engine song, but in winter the circuit lies silent under snow and the village belongs to the cold. Dad's Excavating Inc is an excavating business that turns to snow removal in this season, plowing driveways and parking areas around town. The lake itself is a kettle the glaciers left behind, ringed by moraine hills, and storms crossing that rumpled country can bury the streets by morning. The work happens in the dark, snow pushed off and piled tidy at the margins, a driveway cleared through to the street before anyone needs it. Until the lake summer returns, the job is simple and important: every way in and out kept clear.
