About Jake Ernst Contractor Inc

Elcho is northwoods proper — pines, lake country, and winters that arrive early and stay committed. When the lakes lock up and the snow starts stacking under the trees, Jake Ernst Contractor Inc turns its equipment to keeping people connected: driveways plowed, cabin lanes opened, lots cleared for the businesses along Highway 45. A Langlade County snowfall can bury a seasonal road overnight, and clearing it well means knowing the ground under the white — the culverts, the soft shoulders, the bends in the lane. Contracting work the rest of the year builds exactly that knowledge. Up here, the sound of a plow coming down the road on a hard morning is one of the best sounds there is.
