About Your Personal Gardener & Arborist

East Troy still gathers around its square, and the trees that shade it, along with the ones on the drumlin roads out toward the kettles, are old enough to need reading rather than simply cutting. Your Personal Gardener & Arborist begins with the health of a tree: what the leaves are saying, where the soil has gone compacted, which limb is a structural problem five years early. Pruning here is done for the tree's own sake, opening a crown to air and light so the whole frame carries its weight better. Removal is the last chapter, and it is honest work when a tree has genuinely come to the end of itself. Between Booth Lake and the Kettle Moraine ridges the growing season is generous, and a little attention now buys decades of shade later.
