B Engel Asphalt

About B Engel Asphalt

At four in the morning the crossroads in Eagle is empty and the moraine hills north of town are just shapes under falling snow. B Engel Asphalt runs plow routes out of those hours, driveways and parking lots opened first, then walks and entries cleared, then salt on the packed spots that will turn slick under the day's traffic. Ground this hilly means drives that rise and bend, and a grade that has to be scraped down to pavement instead of left with a skin of snow on it. The satisfaction is pulling in somewhere at dawn to find the lot already dark and wet and usable, as if the storm had been argued with and lost. Then on to the next one before the second band comes through.
