The Helping Hand

About The Helping Hand

On a Delavan side street after a night of snow, the difference between a hard morning and an easy one is whether somebody reached the walk first. The Helping Hand does that work — shoveling walks, plowing drives, clearing steps and putting salt on the slick spots, early enough that the mail and the school bus find everything open. When the ground softens it becomes mowing, trimming, edging, mulch and seasonal cleanups at the same houses in a friendlier month. A cleared path to the door and a lawn cut close around the porch amount to about the same favor, done half a year apart. The area covered runs through Delavan, Darien, Elkhorn and Walworth.
