About Custom Lawn Care LLC

Custer is a crossroads in the Portage County sands — pines on one side, farm fields on the other, Stevens Point a short drive west. Custom Lawn Care LLC mows this country through the long central-Wisconsin summer, when the sandy ground drains fast and a lawn shows every week of care or neglect. Grass here has to be coaxed a little, cut at the right height and tended through the dry spells, and the crew takes each yard on its own terms, which is what the name means. When August evening light comes low through the pines, a well-kept lawn in Custer holds its color like it earned it.
