About Blaine's

A clipper slides through after midnight, dry and fast, and by two in the morning the hill streets above the river are stitched shut with fine snow. Blaine's answers those nights with plowing, shoveled stoops and walks, and ice control on the steep aprons where a car has to hold its footing to reach the street. On a slope, snow removal is as much about where the pile goes as where the blade starts, and the difference shows up the next time it snows. Chippewa Falls wakes early, so the goal is simple: be finished before the first headlights come down the hill. Homes and businesses are served in Chippewa Falls, Lake Hallie and Tilden.
