Birchwood Snow & Landscape

About Birchwood Snow & Landscape

West of town the Cedarburg Bog goes silent under snow, tamaracks bare and the sedge meadow flattened white, and on a clear January night you can hear a plow working two roads over. Birchwood Snow & Landscape keeps those hours — clearing drives and lots, shoveling walks, spreading salt where ice sets up hard against a step. When the ground releases in spring the same trucks come back for mowing, trimming and bed work, and the year runs its circle again. Winter in Ozaukee County is mostly a matter of being awake first, so that a driveway is open before the coffee is poured. It is unglamorous work, and it is the difference between a hard morning and an ordinary one.
