Fishnick Services

About Fishnick Services

In the coldest weeks of January, bald eagles gather along the open water at Cassville, perching in the riverbank trees and dropping to the current to fish. Fishnick Services keeps the village moving beneath them, providing snow removal when storms sweep across the Mississippi from Iowa. Snow in a river town has its own moods, wet and heavy one day, fine and wind-driven the next, and each asks for a different touch. A plowed drive here means a neighbor can get to work, to church, or down to the water with binoculars. There is a gladness to the work when the eagles are wheeling overhead and the pavement lies bare beneath them.
