About Pagels Landscaping

In Cassian the lawns end where the pines begin, and half the work is negotiating that border. Pagels Landscaping tends yards in this corner of Oneida County — lake lots, cabin clearings, the open ground between birch and water — where morning light comes through the trees in stripes. Mowing here means working around root and rock and the needles that keep falling; a cleanup means the yard is ready before the boat is. When the loons call across the water at dusk, a freshly cut clearing holds the last of the light a little longer. That is the pleasure of the trade this far north, from Cassian over to Tomahawk and Rhinelander.
