When the melt comes, Decatur Lake shoves its ice up against the dam north of town and Brodhead knows the season has turned. KC Lawn Care meets that turn with spring cleanup — the winter's litter raked off, beds edged, the first cut that wakes a lawn up — then holds the line all summer with mowing, trimming, fertilizing and weed control. Autumn brings the leaves down along the river streets, and off they go. After that the work flips: plowing driveways and lots, shoveling steps and walks, salting where the shade keeps things frozen.
