About Backwoods 40 LLC

In Bradley, the lawns end where the pines begin, and the pines go on for a long way. This is Lincoln County northwoods — the Wisconsin River sliding past Tomahawk, lakes tucked behind every stand of timber, summer light that hangs on past nine. Backwoods 40 LLC keeps the clearings clear: cabin yards mowed, camp lawns trimmed, needles and leaves hauled off before they smother the grass. The growing season is short up here and it grows like it knows it, so the rounds stay tight from ice-out to first frost. A mowed yard against a wall of white pine is its own kind of tidy — the northwoods, with a front lawn.
