Long before there was a city on these banks, the Fox was a route — a way through the country, with a portage at the far end of it. Voyage Solutions WI still works that corridor, keeping Appleton properties in order across both seasons: mowing and trimming while the riverside paths are green, plowing and salting once the water turns gray and the wind sets in. Routes are what the job actually is — the same yards on a July afternoon, the same driveways at four on a January morning. Freedom, Greenville and Little Chute all sit on the loop. A place kept up looks unremarkable, and that is exactly the intention.
