About Roger Hauling Service

Roger Hauling Service knows the roads out of Yelm the way a farmer knows a fence line, from the Yelm Highway curves down toward the timberline to the straight stretches past horse pastures on the prairie's edge. Hauling is the trade the rest of the year, so when snow piles up in a parking lot or along a loading dock, the trucks that usually carry gravel and feed haul the drifts away instead, clearing space fast for whoever needs the lot open. Mornings after a storm the prairie holds its white a little longer than the timbered hills around it, flat ground giving the sun nothing to hide behind, and that's when the trucks are already moving. The service plows and hauls snow for driveways, farm lanes, and commercial yards around Yelm, working the same routes it runs empty-bed the rest of the year. Come afternoon the fields are bare again and the prairie sky clears wide open, like the storm never came through.
