Down where Wenatchee Avenue runs past Pybus Public Market and the Apple Capital Loop Trail follows the Columbia along both banks, the town keeps a steady foot traffic even on cold mornings, and the sidewalks have to be cleared before the market opens its doors. Wenatchee Plow handles that downtown stretch, along with the driveways and lots that back up to it, working early enough that shopkeepers arrive to bare concrete instead of a crust of overnight ice. The river itself rarely freezes here, but the trail beside it holds shade and cold air long after the streets have cleared, and walkers still expect a dry path underfoot. There's a rhythm to it, plow and shovel crew moving block by block while the town wakes up around them, market lights coming on, coffee smell starting somewhere on the avenue. Clearing that stretch well means Wenatchee's downtown doesn't miss a morning for weather.
