Heritage Excavation of Washougal

About Heritage Excavation of Washougal

Washougal grew up around its old mill on the river, and the downtown grid built up alongside it still carries that small mill-town scale, short blocks and modest homes close to the street. Heritage Excavation works those in-town properties, clearing driveways and short walks laid out back when the town was still young around its mill. The Gorge wind reaches downtown too, just gentler than it hits the hillsides above the river, enough to glaze a driveway without the drama of an ice storm out past town. Working block by block through the old grid, they clear a route a resident would recognize from the same walk taken every winter before it. Most mornings nobody notices the work at all, until the one morning it hasn't happened yet.
