About Tom Jessee's Yard Services

By November the east side of town is ankle-deep in leaves and people know which trucks come by on which day. Tom Jessee's Yard Services is one of them — a name on the door, a route learned yard by yard, gates latched again on the way out. The fall stretch is raking and hauling until the lawns come clear; the summer stretch is mowing, edging and trimming until the grass gives out in the heat. Spring is feeding and that first cut, when the valley greens up faster than anybody is ready for. It is the kind of route where the work is remembered from one visit to the next.
