Little Bird Gardens

About Little Bird Gardens

The gardens Little Bird Gardens tends are small and particular: stepping-stone paths, a bench under an old maple, a feeder that keeps chickadees coming back all winter. When snow covers those beds, the paths disappear first, and a porch step under an inch of ice is no place for anyone to find their footing. They clear the walkways and stairs by hand, working close around perennial beds and low stone borders that a plow blade would never respect. On a still morning after a storm, the only sound on some of these Vashon properties is a shovel scraping brick, a bird somewhere overhead deciding it's safe to come down again. Small gardens need small, careful attention, winter included.
