On a rinsed-clean October morning from the high ground north of Vancouver, Mount St. Helens sits on the horizon looking drawn rather than built, and the whole county seems to be paying attention. Grand-View Landscape earns its name at ground level too: a lawn cut evenly, edged true and cleared of leaf litter is the frame that lets a view be a view. The work is lawn care through the year — mowing, edging, trimming, and the steady removal of everything autumn drops on the grass. Fall here is not a week, it is a long soft season, and a yard left to it goes matted and sour by January. Coming back through those wet months is how a lawn arrives at spring already green. Vancouver, Felida, Salmon Creek and Mount Vista all sit on the route.
