Officers Row's old maples go bare early, and by the time the Gorge sends its first real freeze through, their branches are the only thing between the historic roofs beneath them and a clear winter sky. Atlas Softwash works those roofs and the walkways around them after a hard overnight freeze, clearing what's collected so meltwater has somewhere to go besides pooling against a foundation. The walk beneath each roofline gets swept and treated too, since runoff off a cleared roof is exactly what turns a clean sidewalk back into a hazard by mid-morning. It's careful work on old buildings, done without shortcuts around gutters and downspouts that have stood since the houses were built. A roof and a walkway cleared together, properly, is the difference between one job and two problems later.
