When the east wind comes down the Gorge in February it arrives with a sound before it arrives with cold, and for a few days everything on that side of the county goes glazed and stiff. All Weather Tree and Landscape is named for exactly that kind of week. Lawn work here means showing up between the systems — mowing when the ground will hold a machine, clearing storm litter off the turf, cutting hedges and shrubs back, opening the soil with an aerator once it finally gives. Grass in this valley hardly stops growing; it only slows, so the calendar bends around the weather instead of pretending it isn't there. It's good to see a yard come through a rough stretch still looking tended.
