About Jr's Brush Cutting LLC

Between the bluff-top streets of University Place, wooded ravines cut down toward the Sound, thick with salal and second-growth fir that Jr's Brush Cutting spends most of the year keeping in check. A cold snap changes that same brushy ground for a short stretch, ice coating the undergrowth and turning a familiar ravine trail slick underfoot. Clearing a path or a driveway edge along one of these wooded lots means working around growth the crew already knows block by block, not learning new ground each storm. Real snow reaches this part of Pierce County rarely, the Sound usually keeping the cold just wet enough to fall as rain instead, but when it does hold as snow it clings to the brush longer than to open ground. It's small-scale winter work fitted into a landscape the crew otherwise spends its year cutting back, not clearing.
