Sprouted Slopes

About Sprouted Slopes

Tumwater is built on a grade; the river cut its ravine and the yards climb away from it in short, steep runs. Sprouted Slopes takes those hillside lawns, mowing across the pitch, trimming the banks where a mower cannot sit, edging the steps and the retaining walls. In early spring the moss is winning and the grass is thin, and a few well-timed cuts are what tip the balance back the other way. Steep ground is slower going, but a sloped lawn cut evenly is one of the better things to see from the street. The name fits the terrain, and that is no accident.
