Tumwater Falls drops hard over its basalt ledge year-round, and on a cold morning the mist it throws can freeze fine and white on the railings of the park built around it. Imperium Exteriors works the exteriors of homes and buildings not far from that falls, and a rare snow across the Deschutes River valley gets treated the same way as any other exterior job — walkways cleared, steps made safe, gutters checked once the thaw starts running again. The old brewery buildings above the falls have stood through worse weather than a dusting of snow, and the neighborhoods that have grown up around them expect the same steady upkeep in winter as any other season. Snow this far south in the Puget Sound lowlands rarely holds more than a day or two, so the work is often a short, sharp push rather than a long campaign. It's exterior work done in the shadow of a landmark most of Tumwater walks past without a second look.
