Fog sits in the Swan Creek ravine most mornings until the sun clears McKinley Hill, and the lawns above it come up beaded and heavy. S.M landscaping starts there, letting the grass dry enough to cut clean, then working the block: mowing, edging the sidewalks that step down the hillside, trimming the sloped strips beside the stairs, weeding beds back to bare soil. The east side of Tacoma is all short streets and small yards with big views off the end of them, and small yards are where sloppy edges show. So the borders get cut true and the walks get cleared before the truck moves on. Twice a year the property gets a full cleanup, beds opened in spring and leaves taken out in the fall. Ordinary streets, kept sharp.
