Action Snow Removal

About Action Snow Removal

Before the first bus crosses the Monroe Street Bridge, Action Snow Removal's plow is already out, headlights carving a channel through the pre-dawn dark above the falls. Downtown Spokane's river gorge holds its own cold, deeper than the streets above it, and the crew works loading docks and driveways while mist off the water still hangs in the trees. By the time the coffee shops on the north bank flip their signs, the runs they cleared are bare down to the pavement. There's a particular satisfaction in a clean edge cut before anyone's awake to see it happen. The falls keep running under their ice all winter, and the driveways above them stay open because someone got there first.
