MXFour works those tucked-in streets after a cold snap that turns clear and still once a front passes, rimed white by morning. Clearing a driveway carved into rimrock takes a different eye than clearing a flat lot — where the runoff pools, where the shade holds ice longest into the afternoon. The reward is a plowed lane switchbacking up between the basalt shoulders, dark asphalt against pale rock and the last of the season's ponderosa needles caught at the edges.
