Snow & Ice Control

About Snow & Ice Control

When a hard cold snap grips the Spokane River, ice fog rises off the open water near the Centennial Trail and drifts across the valley in a way no thermometer reading quite prepares you for. Snow & Ice Control runs its routes through exactly that kind of morning, when the air itself seems to have texture and every parking lot and walkway holds a slick glaze under the fog. The name is the whole job here — not just pushing snow aside but reading which surfaces will refreeze by 9 a.m. and salting them before they do. It's meticulous work in a valley where the cold arrives dry and lingers, day after day, rather than breaking with a quick thaw. Watching the fog burn off by midmorning over a lot that's been swept and salted clean feels like proof the work held.
