Picnic Point sits on a bluff above Puget Sound, close enough to the water that a storm sweeping down the Sound from the north hits these streets before it reaches much of anything inland. On the rare morning when that storm drops snow instead of just rain, it clings to the bluff-top yards and the switchback road down to the beach park longer than it does anywhere flatter. AV GreenScape Designs clears driveways and walkways along those bluff streets, working the steep grades where a skim of ice is far more dangerous than it would be on level ground. Across the water, Whidbey Island and the Olympic peaks stay visible through breaks in the weather, a reminder of how much of this town's character comes from being perched right at the edge of the Sound.
