H & M Tree Service

About H & M Tree Service

Every December the strings of lights go up along Railroad Avenue and out onto the porches of a town that's called itself Christmastown for longer than most residents can remember, and every cold snap threatens to weigh those same lights down with wet snow. H & M Tree Service works the storm calls that come with it, clearing limbs that sag under snow load before they can pull a string of lights down with them, then plowing the driveway underneath so the display still looks right from the road. It's unusual work for a tree service, checking a maple branch by flashlight to see whether it's the tree or the lights that are actually in trouble. Once the branch is down and the driveway is scraped clear, the lights usually make it through the rest of the night just fine. There's something satisfying about keeping a town's holiday lights burning through a storm that could just as easily have taken a few of them out.
