Beko's Tree Service and Wood Carving

About Beko's Tree Service and Wood Carving

East of Shelton the land climbs into Capitol State Forest, a wall of Douglas fir dense enough to hold its own weather. When wet snow piles onto those branches, something has to give, and Beko's Tree Service spends storm mornings clearing what came down across driveways before it can clear the snow underneath it. It's exacting work first, knowing which limb is still under tension and which one will settle on its own if you wait a minute, and then it's simpler work, a plow blade taking the gravel drive back to solid ground. The carving side of the business means a downed alder or fir that blocked someone's driveway an hour ago might end up a bowl or a carved bear before the week is out. It's an odd kind of tidiness, turning the forest's mess into both a clear road and something worth keeping.
