About Seattle Gardening Co.

April in Montlake, and the Arboretum is putting on its yearly show while the yards around it are still making up their minds. Seattle Gardening Co. works at that scale — beds and borders as much as turf, rhododendrons and hydrangeas pruned back to their shape, mulch spread dark, weeds taken by hand before they can seed. The grass gets its share too: mowing, edging, feeding, overseeding where shade has thinned it out. Summer is upkeep, autumn is leaves and cutbacks, winter is the shaping nobody notices until spring proves it worked. A garden is a slow argument, and patience is what wins it.
