On a July evening the yards above Alki face straight west across Elliott Bay, and the Olympics go violet while the mower is still running. Pacific Landscape works those salt-facing slopes, where the wind never quits and grass grows in bursts between dry weeks. Mowing and edging, hedges shaped around the way wind lays a plant over, weeding, feeding, mulch to keep beds from drying out. Autumn means leaves off the turf before rain glues them down.
