About Gu-Wi Gutters & Windows

Magnolia's bluff homes look straight out over Puget Sound, and in a hard winter storm the same wind that clears the view off the water piles snow against gutters already carrying the season's rain. This crew climbs those rooflines to clear the buildup before it backs up into ice along the eaves, working the gutters and window ledges together, since both hold onto whatever the storm leaves behind. Evening is often when the worst of it shows: a gutter overflowing in the dark, freezing into a ridge along the roofline by morning if it's left alone. The Sound below goes black early in winter, ferry lights the only movement out past the bluff while ladders go up against a house instead of a dock. Clearing that ice off before it thickens is plain, cold work, but it keeps a whole roofline from turning into one long icicle by morning.
