About Crew Camp Co

October fog fills Interbay to the rail yard and the top of Queen Anne floats above it, which is a fair description of how a morning route feels from a truck seat. Crew Camp Co works the hill and the flats below — mowing, edging, trimming, hedge work, leaves raked and hauled as the maples let go. Autumn here is not a single day; it is ten weeks of steady dropping, and the yards that stay clear are the ones somebody keeps visiting. There is pride in a lawn still green in November, cut short and clean under a wet sky. The trailer gets packed, the fog lifts off Elliott Bay, and they roll on.
