Rain is Satsop's native weather, arriving off the Pacific in long gray curtains that soak the Chehalis Valley from fall well into spring. B TREE works yards in this green, wet country, where bigleaf maples wear coats of moss and lawns grow faster than seems reasonable. Between showers come the mowing and trimming, and the clearing of twigs and branches that every winter blow shakes loose. When a break in the clouds lets the sun through, a freshly cut yard shines wet and vivid, every blade standing up bright. Satsop lawns are damp and fast-growing, and lovely when someone keeps up with them.
