Out toward Fairwood and the quieter cul-de-sacs on Renton's eastern edge, the houses sit further apart and the trees close in more, and a heavy snow tends to pile along the eaves before anyone notices how much weight has gathered there. Mendoza Gutters works those roof edges and the ground below them together — clearing snow off the drip line before it can back up and refreeze against a fascia board, then shoveling the walk and driveway it fell onto. It's careful, ladder-and-shovel work, done house by house along streets that don't see a plow until the arterial is done.
