A Touch of Green

About A Touch of Green

In March the valley floor around Puyallup goes yellow with daffodils, field after field of them, and the whole town remembers what color is for. Lawn care here is mostly a matter of small, steady attention — a mowing height that suits the season, a trim line kept honest around the mailbox post, moss kept from claiming the north side of the yard. A Touch of Green works that way, lightly and often, so a lawn never has to be rescued. There is a particular pleasure in the last pass of an afternoon, when the stripes lie down flat and the yard looks the way it was always meant to. Spring arrives early on this valley floor, and the mower is out while other places are still waiting.
