Sumner Lawn N Saw

About Sumner Lawn N Saw

Morning in the Puyallup valley starts under a lid of river fog, and it burns off about the time the first cut of the day gets going. Sumner Lawn N Saw works that flat valley floor between the Puyallup River and the fields running up toward Sumner, where wet air and long green springs make grass grow like it has somewhere to be. The work is mowing, edging, string trimming and hauling the clippings off, laid down in passes straight enough to read from the sidewalk. By afternoon a lawn has that combed, two-tone look, and the line along the driveway is clean enough to set a ruler against. Rain returns, the grass answers, and so does the mower.
