Leland Lawn

About Leland Lawn

Dusk settles slowly on a summer evening. The sun goes down but the sky stays pale a long while after, porch lights come on one at a time down the street, and the cut grass in the front yards gives off its cooling smell. Leland Lawn keeps those yards in that condition — mowed on rhythm, trimmed along the steps and mailbox, edged where the lawn meets the walk, swept clean of clippings. It is neighborly work, done at the scale of one house at a time. A lawn that's been kept up all season doesn't ask for attention; it just makes the porch a nicer place to sit while the last light fades.
