About Stigall Tree Service

East of downtown, out past Morse Creek where the lots back up against second-growth timber left standing when the rest of the hillside was logged decades ago, Stigall spends a good part of every year taking down trees that lean too far toward a roofline or a power line. It's inland enough there that storms off the Strait lose some punch by the time they reach it, but the trees are older and taller for it, and when one does come down under wind or a wet snow load, it tends to take a fence or a carport with it. A hazard-tree call and a snowed-in driveway turn out to need the same truck: long gravel lanes back through the timber that a bucket truck can't reach if six inches of snow got there first. Clearing the driveway is often the only way the crew gets close enough to the tree at all. It's a slower kind of tree work than the storm-chasing done closer to the water — one property at a time, one long driveway worked all the way to the end before moving on.
