RobinsNest spends the growing season shaping garden beds across Port Angeles's older neighborhoods, the kind with rhododendrons planted decades before anyone working there today was born, and come winter those same beds go dormant under whatever weather the Strait sends that year. Most winters that's rain, but the crew keeps a blade for the years it isn't, clearing the front walks and driveways of the same clients whose gardens it shapes the rest of the year — the work doesn't stop just because the plants have. A garden that gets tended all summer is easy to spot even buried: the shape of a pruned hedge still holds its line under a few inches of snow, and the crew clearing the walk in front of it knows exactly where the edging is without having to guess. It's a smaller job than the summer's full-crew days, usually just enough hands to clear a walk and a driveway apron before a client needs to back out for work. By the time the snow's gone, usually within a day or two here, the beds underneath are exactly as they were left in November.
