About Goddess in the Garden

Rhododendrons come on strong along Lauridsen Boulevard in late May, and for a few weeks Port Angeles looks like it planned the entire display. Goddess in the Garden tends the gardens behind that show — bed weeding and cleanup, shrub and perennial trimming, edging, mowing, and hauling the cuttings away. A garden is a conversation you carry on with a place over years, and this peninsula is a generous partner: wet, mild, slow to freeze. Cutting the right stem in the right month is where the pleasure of it lives. Beds shaped by hand read differently from beds merely maintained, and everyone can tell, even when they cannot say why.
