Call Luke! handles the small downtown jobs that can't wait — the City Pier lot cleared before the Coho's first run to Victoria, a step salted before a shop opens for the day. The name on the truck is as plain as the work: small jobs, done the same day, whatever a downtown block needs between the ferry terminal and the murals along Laurel Street. Most winters that means salting a few icy front steps more than plowing anything, since Port Angeles sits in enough of a rain shadow that snow rarely stacks up downtown the way it does up on Hurricane Ridge in plain view above the rooftops. The mornings it does stick, the crew is out early with a blade on the truck, opening the alley behind the shops and the walk up to the pier before the first ferry passengers come off the boat looking for coffee. It's a short list of blocks, worked the same order every time, because a downtown that depends on foot traffic can't afford even one iced-over doorway.
