Pasco wakes early in July, and the mower is already running while the light is still long and low across the sagebrush flats east of town. Triple J's Property Services LLC keeps lawns in a place where green is something you make on purpose — where the Snake slides into the Columbia below Sacajawea Park and the Horse Heaven Hills go gold by June, so every mowed strip, every trimmed fence line, every edge cut clean along a Road 68 driveway is a small argument with the desert, and a winning one. The work is mowing and string trimming, edging walks and beds, blowing the clippings off the concrete, and hauling away what the season drops. By afternoon the heat stands up off the pavement and the river throws light back at the bluffs, and the yards that got attention that morning hold their shape through it. Come the cottonwood leaves of late October along Chiawana Park, there is cleanup work to be done, and the same care goes into it. Service runs through Pasco and out to Kennewick, Richland, West Richland, Burbank and the farm roads north toward Eltopia.
