About Watson's Mowing

Come back from three weeks away and a Parkwood lawn will have taken the place over — seed heads up, borders lost, the path narrowing under the grass. Watson's Mowing is the call for that: knock the height down in passes, clear the cut, recut the edges and hand back a yard you can see the shape of again. After that it becomes ordinary — mown on a round, trimmed at the fence line, swept before the trailer moves off. Bringing something back from overgrown is the most obviously satisfying part of this trade; keeping it there is the more useful part. Parkwood and the streets nearby are the patch.
