About The Lawn Ranger

A route through Omak is its own small geography: down 97 with the river on one side, then up through the neighborhoods where the streets run out into orchard and hill. The Lawn Ranger rides it in June, when the valley is at its greenest and grass grows fast enough to be an appointment rather than a chore. Every stop gets the same treatment — an even cut, borders defined, the trimmer taken around trees and mailbox posts, the drive blown clear. The good part is the rearview: a line of yards behind you, all standing up straight. Wind comes down off the highlands most afternoons, and by then the day's work is finished.
