Sprinkler Solutions

About Sprinkler Solutions

Before the legislature's lights come on over the Capitol dome, Sprinkler Solutions is already out along the brick streets that slope down toward Capitol Lake, working a shovel and a spreader ahead of the first commuters. Olympia doesn't wear ice often, but when a cold snap slides down through the gap and glazes the sidewalks near the campus, the difference between a clear path and a closed one is whoever got there first. The crew clears driveways and walkways block by block, salting the shaded corners where the sun won't reach until noon, and leaving concrete dry enough that a person can walk to their car without thinking about their footing. There's a particular satisfaction in watching steam rise off a driveway they just scraped bare while the rest of the block is still white. By the time the fog lifts off the lake, the street looks like an ordinary Tuesday again.
